You could do a simplified version of this where the participants are provided with the narration and a selection of images which they choose from and edit together.
Imagery
Go through a poem and underline examples of imagery. Find pictures from
magazines or books that illustrate this imagery. Copy them onto video or import
them into your editing program as still images. Create a 'montage' sequence
of these images.
For working with a class, you could try giving each team a different poem at random. Without narration, can the class tell which film is which poem?
