This half-day workshop for Key Stage 3 English uses presentation illustrated with video clips, whole-class discussion and group activities to consider key features of media and moving image texts and how they target audiences, convey messages and tell stories.

It includes:

  • the relationship between design, images and language in print advertisements and newspapers
  • the use of camera, sound and editing in moving images, including TV drama, classic adaptations and advertisements
  • terminology for discussing print design and moving images.

Pupils will be provided with worksheets and explanations of key terms.

Suitable for up to 90 pupils depending on venue.
